About Vesta Giles
A lover of all things creative, Vesta Giles is a writer, filmmaker, and part-time branch head of a
small library based in Kamloops, BC, Canada. Although she has been writing magazine articles,
screenplays, and contributing to books for nearly 30 years, she is releasing her first book, The
Spyders: Slither Me Timbers, in the spring of 2021.
In her non-writing life Vesta has previously been a leader of the Parent Child Mother Goose program and has lead many children’s programs for newborns through teens in her job as a library branch head.
Vesta spent several years writing magazine articles and advertising copy for publications like Canadian Living, Family Circle Easy Knitting, and SOAR. She contributed many pieces for the book Susan Point: Coast Salish Artist in 2000 and then honed her skills in the craft of filmmaking and screenwriting. The Movie of the Week she wrote, Daughter for Sale (Odyssey Media, Inc.), aired on the Lifetime Network USA (2017). You can learn more about her filmmaking and screenwriting at www.vandelsoproductions.ca.
Vesta loves fountain pens, ink, and different papers and handwrites her projects before transferring them to a computer. When she isn’t writing or drooling over fountain pens and ink, Vesta loves listening to audiobooks, cross country skiing, hiking, biking, and sewing, knitting, and felting.
